Course Description: EDT 322 – Production and Exhibition of Educational Technology Products
EDT 322 is a three-credit, compulsory undergraduate course designed to equip students with the theoretical foundations and practical competencies required for the design, development, evaluation, and exhibition of educational technology (EdTech) products. The course adopts a hands-on, production-oriented approach that integrates instructional design principles with multimedia development, user interface design, and pedagogical strategies.
Students are guided through the complete lifecycle of EdTech product development—from needs analysis and conceptual design using models such as ADDIE, to multimedia content creation involving video, audio, graphics, and animation. The course further emphasizes usability, accessibility, and user experience (UX) design, ensuring that developed products are learner-centered and inclusive.
In addition, learners explore systematic evaluation techniques, content management systems, and digital delivery platforms such as Learning Management Systems (LMS). Project management skills, including agile development approaches, are introduced to support effective planning and execution of EdTech projects.
A distinctive feature of this course is its focus on exhibition and dissemination, where students produce portfolio-quality educational technology artefacts and present them in professional contexts such as exhibitions, demonstrations, and digital platforms. Legal, ethical, and professional considerations—including copyright, data protection, and accessibility standards—are also addressed.
By the end of the course, students will have developed both the technical expertise and pedagogical insight necessary to function as competent designers, producers, and evaluators of educational technology products in diverse educational and professional settings.
